Alden Richards New Handwashing music Sets the Tune for a worry-free Christmas

Tis the season to be jolly and worry-free; as Safeguard, the nation’s leading soap that stands for germ-protection; sets the tune for a healthy Christmas celebration with the newest hand-washing music video, “Five Hugas ng Krismas.”

Featuring the charming voice of local celebrity and “Pambansang Bae” Alden Richards, the music video stresses the importance of having clean hands this Yuletide season through a colorful and energetic finger-tutting choreography set to a classic Christmas melody. This is Safeguard’s creative response to an alarming discovery from the first Philippine Handwashing Index (PHI), with results showing that most Filipinos do not wash their hands regularly and diligently. PHI is a breakthrough study commissioned by Safeguard to have a closer look at the hand-washing habits of Filipinos.

The message of the music video is simple yet impactful: “Ang bawat hugas, dapat Safeguard hugas”. This means only trusting the best when it comes to germ-protection, by simply following these five non-negotiables on when to wash your hands: before mag-mano, after banyo, before kumain, after playing, and before mag-bonding.

“A joyful Christmas is a Christmas that is spent with family and friends – happy and worry-free. A lot of us take hand-washing for granted, and since is it a good way to prevent illnesses, it’s important to remind the people to continuously wash their hands the Safeguard way,” says Alden Richards.

Director Sid Maderazo and Assistant Director Manman Angsico, a veteran theater actor and vocal coach, are the masterminds behind the creative execution of the “Five Hugas ng Krismas” music video. In it, the finger-tutting choreography features five hands that represent the five points of the star – reminiscent of the Filipino Christmas parol. For the background, sliding panels and creative props help depict the different times one should remember to wash their hands, specifically during those festive moments that define a Filipino Christmas. From bonding with the family over karaoke, to digging in on the delicious spread of local rice cakes, the music video is a fun and creative way to create awareness about the value of hand-washing.

“Sometimes the simplest of ideas can be the most challenging. The intention was to shoot the scenes seamlessly with live moving backgrounds. The easy route was to use green screen, but where’s the fun in that? It was all about great team work from everyone involved, and in the goal of sharing about an advocacy worth sharing to kids and the young-at-heart alike,” shares Director Sid Maderazo.

Clean hands for every Filipino

Through the Five Hugas ng Krismas music video, Safeguard aims to address the serious problem with the poor hand-washing habits of Filipinos, which was uncovered by the first Philippine Handwashing Index. The study found that seven out of ten Filipinos claim to wash their hands with soap after using a public toilet, but only two really do. To add, only water is being used when hand-washing by 60% of women before cooking, and 40% of women before feeding their kids

Children are the most prone to sickness, yet 66% of Filipinos have noticed or witnessed children not washing hands after using the toilet; and 40% of Filipinos do not wash their hands before touching young children.

“The results of the Philippine Handwashing Index prompted Safeguard to come up with a creative solution to keep hand-washing a top-of-mind habit in every home. Through “Five Hugas ng Krismas”, we want to work together to instill proper hand-washing habits in time of the holiday season, where Filipinos touch and and are in frequent contact with relatives and friends,” explains Jia Salindong-Du, Safeguard Philippines Brand Manager.

For over five decades, Safeguard has been a dedicated hand-washing advocate, promoting proper hand-washing habits with a wide range of antibacterial soaps that provide family protection against germs for up to 24 hours.

Watch and share the Five Hugas ng Krismas music video to spread awareness about the proper handwashing habits this season of joy. Click this link for the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaExAK84IYk

Know the factors that contribute to hair loss and TIPS on how to beat them

Have you ever experienced a day wherein nothing seems to go well, that no matter how you try to choose the right path, you keep making the wrong turn? Just like having a bad hair day, no matter how many times you comb your hair, it just would not budge.

Life can be challenging at times but there will always be a way to resolve these challenges and come out victorious. Having this in mind will be easy to keep your patience and continue to move forward.
Just like losing strands of your hair due to factors beyond your control, you too can do something.

• Eat healthy – Eating the right food can alter your mood. Having low-level of folic acid in your body can cause anxiety, hence, food such as asparagus, avocado, salmon, and almond are recommended to fight stress hormones.
• Stay calm – Listen to comforting music and reading feel-good stories can help switch you to a calm mood.
• Exercise – Exercise releases endorphins that can relieve you from stress and anxiety.
• Supplement –Taking in Vitamins such as B-complex can alter mood swings.

Don’t let your stress factors contribute to your hair loss. Letting yourself succumb to anxiety will definitely show up to your follicles and this can lead to more hair loss.
Hectic schedules and pressure from work, not to mention the pollution and filth outside easily make you feel unease and, at times, irritable. Slow down a bit, have fun and relax. There’s no better way to begin with your mane.

Tip 1:  The stroke of a comb can give you a soothing feeling while, at the same time, help unleash the natural oil of your hair.

Tip 2:  Stay away from getting pigtails, hair weaves, braids and tight hair rollers, which can pull and stress your hair.

Tip 3: Avoid perming, straightening or coloring because they contain toxic chemicals that could cause damage to your locks.

Tip 4: Choose natural. Use NOVUHAIR topical solution. Apply liberal amount on to your scalp and hair. Massage it gently for -10 minutes to help permeate deeply from root to tip.

NOVUHAIR is packed with 19 natural ingredients that help promote growth, nourishment and rejuvenation of your tress.

NOVUHAIR is available at Mercury Drug and other leading drugstores nationwide. For more information, please contact hotlines 4136570 and 09228830575 from Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm or visit www.novuhair.com

Press Release: NOVUHAIR turns favor with Holiday bash promo

So you’ve got your festive outfit set and the fancy gift wrapped for your “monito” or “monita”. All that’s left undone is a party season-perfect hairstyle.

The fresh out of the shower look can be seductive yet temporary. Blame it to tropical climate, it can spoil your appearance, besides making you feel sweaty and stale. The heat and humidity brought about by extreme weather condition, likewise, dries out the locks easily and make it more fragile.

Adding damage to your delicate strands are the chemical contents of various products on hand. From shampoo to conditioner and hair treatment, down to styling goods to groom it to your liking, their harsh synthetic materials jeopardize the natural oil and luster of your mane.

Because you are what you eat, the fate of your crowning glory is in the plate. Your diet must have the correct balance of vitamins and minerals to supply hair with all that it needs to become shiny and strong. So don’t overindulge, especially this time of the year when gastronomic feasts are spread almost everywhere you go. Be careful on what you take in, thinking that it’s also what you feed your ‘do.

Even stress can wear off the beauty and health of the tress. And that’s exactly what you should avoid this Yuletide season. Never put pressure on yourself just to please everyone. Just take it easy, let your hair down and party all night long.

In this time of gratitude, NOVUHAIR makes everyday “a good hair day” for its valued patrons like you with its Christmas and Year-End Promo. Get an extra NOVUHAIR Herbal Shampoo 200 ml. worth P1,040 for FREE if you buy a NOVUHAIR 3-in-1 pack at participating WATSONS stores nationwide (DOH-FDA CCRR Permit No.: 967 s. 2017).

NOVUHAIR helps prevent hair loss, improve overall appearance, promote nourishment and rejuvenation. It is clinically-tested and proven safe and effective.

Achieve the Season’s Light and Natural Look with Ever Bilena Advance

This season’s make-up trend highlights the “less is more” look-- minimal colors and strokes that bring out the natural glow.

The forecast was shared during the Advance Affiliate Program a non-exclusive organization of beauty enthusiasts, professional and aspiring make-up artists who actively participate in the projects and campaigns of Ever Bilena Advance.
This season’s “less is more” look will allow the skin to breathe. The very light make-up is applied after moisturizing. The look does away with setting powders or sprays in favor
of natural sheen. The matte finish is achieved simply by dabbing light dusting powder on the face.

The eyes are bare with only a wash of soft metallic shadow applied with no defined placement on the lid. Brows take center stage with their untamed look created by brushing the hair upward and applying hair-like strokes with EB Advance Matic Brow Liner. Thick coatings on lashes with EB Advance Volume Control add definition to the eyes.

For the adventurous, go against the contour of the eye and experiment with accentuated lids using the EB Advance Matic Eyeliner. Lines can be complex or as simple as a line across the lid.

For the cheeks, the subtle blush is applied with control. The EB Advance Blushing Cheeks have a dewy finish with colors ranging from earthy browns to pops of bright pink.

While matte lipsticks are staple, glossy shades like the EB Advance Bitten Lips is making a comeback. This lip tint will look great on either bare or bold lips.
Achieve the “less is more” look with the newest products from EB Advance available at any EB Advance counters at leading supermarkets, drugstores, and department stores nationwide.

The Advance Affiliate Program offers free membership to qualified participants. Aside from training sessions, members get free Ever Bilena Advance products, gigs for digital,
TV, and print campaigns, first dibs on Ever Bilena Advance’s new products, and seasonal trend reports.

IAA (Immigration Advisers Authority) tells Filipinos ‘check your immigration adviser is licensed or exempt’

Catherine Albiston, Registrar of the New Zealand Immigration Advisers Authority (IAA), discusses the importance of receiving professional New Zealand immigration advice in a roundtable discussion in Manila.

Registrar of the New Zealand Immigration Advisers Authority (IAA) Catherine Albiston visited the Philippines this month to advise communities of the importance of only using licensed or exempt advisers when seeking New Zealand immigration advice.
“New Zealand is a popular destination for Filipino migrants to work, study, or visit, but it may not be common knowledge that anyone who needs help completing a New Zealand visa application must get advice from the right person,” said Ms Albiston.
“There is no requirement to use an immigration adviser, however if visa applicants need help then only a licensed immigration adviser or exempt person can assist. Exempt persons include Immigration New Zealand staff, current New Zealand lawyers, and education agents for student visas only.”

Ms Albiston visited Manila and Cebu as part of an IAA campaign to increase awareness of the IAA’s licensed adviser register and list of exempt persons, and the risks associated with using unlicensed advisers.
“Unfortunately there are people who operate unlawfully and provide advice without a licence, which can result in a distressing situation for the visa applicant and their family,” added Ms Albiston.
“With the amount of information available in today’s world, it can be difficult knowing who to trust, which is why the IAA offers a register of licensed advisers on the website.
“Licensed advisers have specialist expertise and have met competency standards. They follow a code of conduct that requires them to be honest and respectful.
“People who are not licensed or exempt, including POEA agencies, can share publicly available information, but cannot provide immigration advice.”

LBC Guarantees Customers’ Welfare by Adhering to Data Protection Act

The value LBC gives to customers goes beyond the simple act of sending and receiving their precious “padala.” It also means making sure that their customers’ personal data is protected, especially from cyber threats.

In a recent forum with LBC’s top officials, Atty. Raul Cortez, Corporate, External and Legal Affairs Director of Microsoft Philippines, shares that due to the 4th Industrial Revolution, technology has become ingrained in our lives and shape the way we live, work and interact. An established company, such as LBC, should be able to put systems in place so that they serve the needs of their customers while making sure that it is compliant with the requirements of the Data Privacy Act of 2012. This law protects the privacy of individual’s personal data while ensuring the free flow of information and growth of businesses, including the exchange of information via live and online transactions.

Atty. Cortez emphasizes that under the provisions of the law, an individual has the right to be protected whenever s/he decides to share personal information with any entity. This encompasses sensitive information such as an individual’s race, health information, education, religion, ethnic background, marital status, and even political affiliation.

For its part, the country’s leading name in remittance and cargo, underlined their efforts to combat cybercrime; guard themselves fully from breaches in cybersecurity and ensure that they are complying strictly to ensure the privacy of their customers’ data. LBC is committed and more than ready in its journey of compliance to implement appropriate organizational, physical, and technical measures - as required by the Data Privacy Act.

Mr. Dale Jose, Modern Workplace Solutions Lead of Microsoft Philippines, adds that the security perimeter in the workplace has now been changed. He said that data breach can often be a result of weak or stolen passwords, or when sensitive data is accidentally shared to the wrong person. Given these risks, Jose adds that customers who do online transactions have the right to be informed, to object, to access, to correct or rectify, to block or remove data, to have data portability, to file a complaint, and to be indemnified.

Given this scenario, LBC has begun adopting measures to conform to the Data Privacy Act. In working closely with Microsoft, LBC’s IT and Compliance team has already adopted Microsoft 0ffice 365 for productivity and Azure. Microsoft designed Azure and Office 365 with industry-leading security measures and privacy policies to safeguard data in the cloud and can help on the journey to reducing risks and equiping companies with the necessary tools to help them comply with the Data Privacy Act.

LBC assures that while they are just in the infant stages en route to full compliance, the measures they have begun implementing is a testament to the way they do business—and the way they care for customers who have entrusted them with vital information and transactions.
